Scenic viewer for environmental exploration

Cascais Town Hall and Cascais Atlântico Agency installed a YDreams' Virtual Sightseeing Scenic Viewer (VSS) at the Environmental Interpretation Center at Ponta do Sal (on the outskirts of Lisbon). The scenic viewer will remain a permanent fixture at the interpretation center.

VSS uses innovative Augmented Reality technology to explore coastal biodiversity and man-made landmarks. The system's intuitive tactile interface pinpoints notable geo-referenced points in the landscape ranging from coastal fauna and flora, to the nearby town citadel. Users aim the scenic viewer at the landscape and touch the points on the screen that interest them, to access related information in the form of text, images and video.
