António Câmara, Eduardo Dias, Edmundo Nobre, Miguel Remédio and Nuno Correia, former colleagues at GASA, a research lab at the New Lisbon University's Faculty of Science and Technology, found Ideias Interactivas S.A. (future YDreams) in June 2000.
Company launches Vizzavi.pt interactive map channel for web and mobile devices for Lisbon and Porto. Distinguished as one of the year’s best apps by Motorola International.
YDreams starts developing pioneering location-based gaming technology, combining the players' real location with the game storyline. The company would launch Undercover in 2003, Spooks (BBC) in 2004 and UnderCover 2: Merc Wars in 2005.
Company changes its name to YDreams. First choice, "XYDreams" quickly discarded after Internet searches bring up a substantial number of sites featuring questionable results.
YDreams releases their first mobile game, Rockstar, on Vodafone Live!.
Creates giant Interactive Cube with IDEO for Vodafone Lisbon’s HQ, which goes on to win a Gold Award from the Industrial Design Society of America.
YDreams' first steps in Augmented Reality.
YDreams crafts interactive ambient spaces for clients like Portugal Telecom, Portuguese Communications Foundation, Museum of the Presidency, Milan Triennale, among others.
2004 kicked off the company's international expansion with co-founder José Miguel Remédio relocating to Barcelona to open YDreams Med, YDreams’ first affiliate in Spain.
UnderCover2: Merc Wars launched at the 2005 3GSM World Congress in Cannes.
First Virtual Sightseeing® - Scenic Viewer implemented in northern Portugal.
YDreams raises 8.5 million Euros in venture capital from ES Tech Ventures (Grupo Espírito Santo) and North American firm Herrick Partners.
Launches Adidas Eye Ball, the company’s biggest international project to date.
YDreams and Gestifute/PolarisSports launch Cristiano Ronaldo Underworld Football, a mobile game revolving around the international football star. The game, first released by Vodafone Portugal, would go on to be released by content providers around the globe.
YDreams creates the first interactive advertising experiences for cinema audiences in Brazil, Portugal and Spain.
Opens Office in Austin, Texas.
YDreams referenced in The Economist as a pioneering company in Augmented Reality technologies.
Conceives and creates entire interactive "Happiness Factory" Coca-Cola campaign in Brazil.
YBand makes it to the European finals of the Fortune Battle of the Corporate Bands.
Launches new product – Architek - Interactive Solutions Creator.
YDreams creates entrepreneurial network for developing revolutionary products.
Strikes agreement with New York-based Brand Experience Lab (BEL).
YDreams becomes a member of The AR Consortium, a group of global companies that are pioneers in the development and creation of augmented reality technology and tools.
